Dosing
Forms:
Bupropion instant-release (IR) tablet: 75, 100mg
Bupropion sustained-release (SR) tablet: 100, 150, 200mg
Extended-release formulations:
Bupropion hydrochloride (XL) tablet: 150, 300, 450mg
Bupropion hydrobromide tablet (Aplenzin): 174, 378, 522mg
Starting:
-Bupropion IR: 75mg BID -> 100mg BID -> 100mg TID (max 450mg total p/day)
Bupropion SR: 100mg BID -> after 3+ days then can increase to 150mg BID (max 400mg total p/day)
->for smoking cessation: 150mg qDay, after 3+ days can then increase to 150mg BID. Max 300mg total daily.
Bupropion HCl (XL): 150mg qAM, after 4+ days can increase to 300mg qDay (max 450mg total p/day)
Bupropion hydrobromide (Aplenzin): 174mg qAM, can eventually increase to 522mg qDay
